Nifty for collaboration
I use Revit and have been using A360 as a collaborative tool for my customers and they have thoroughly enjoyed the interactive experience. It can be awkward at beginning but I experience it but takes some time getting used to the controls, as true with any program. Merely as a whole information technology'southward been absolutely great to be able to upload projects and revisions and exist able to communicate with my customers as convenient to both of united states of america without having to schedule meetings and conferences. Definitely a time saver!
Awkward file admission doesn't even work.
I wanted to view some DXF files from vendor web sites. On the iPad I accept to download to iPad, upload to google drive, then go to "upload" in A360, upload the file to AutoDesk, and then...
...so it says "unable to generate preview, attempt uploading again or contact united states for help". Like the rest of the world, I hate sitting on concord to have someone read from a bad Dilbert script. "Have y'all tried erasing your device without backing upwards?"..."Yes, several times." and I didn't waste my time.
The simple truth is this app is all predicated on AutoDesk holding all the files on their servers and information technology isn't a useful viewer for DXF files on the web.
That means it'southward simply expert for internally generated drawings, simply honestly, I can't come across why any visitor with even the slightest sense of self-preservation would put their proprietary drawings and intellectual property in the hands of a 3rd party. AutoDesk has pretty much created one-stop shopping for industrial espionage. It'south equally good as guaranteed that it will make its style into the easily of a long listing of competitors starting with the Chinese land design bureaus and big multinationals. The aggregate value of all the proprietary design drawings volition be so large that I don't see how they could afford to do what it would have to secure it all from theft through the cyberspace or by concrete access.
Can't view plans, elevations, and sections
The app is great and has allowed my projection architects to redline my models while they're out traveling or on the aeroplane, but they have to go to a canvas view to redline a program. This is difficult because even though this app allows yous to do then much you lot cant do this simple task easily. It besides takes quite some time afterwards y'all've uploaded your file for it to "load a preview". Nevertheless dear the idea! Everyone in the office has an iPad and so information technology has potential.
